Marcos Leonardo Santos Almeida, commonly known as Marcos Leonardo, was born on May 2, 2003, in Itapetinga, Brazil. His football journey began at a young age when he joined the renowned Santos FC youth academy in 2014. Santos, a club famed for producing legendary Brazilian talents like Pelé and Neymar, provided the ideal environment for Leonardo to develop his promising abilities as a striker. He quickly made a name for himself in the youth ranks, consistently demonstrating a keen eye for goal.
His impressive goal-scoring prowess at youth level, including netting 13 goals in 17 appearances for the U17 squad at just 16, led to his promotion to the senior team. Marcos Leonardo made his professional debut for Santos in August 2020, at the age of 17.
