Born on December 19, 1995, in Cape Town, South Africa, he currently plies his trade for South African Premier Division powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns and is also a key member of the South Africa national team.

Rayners' professional journey began with Engen Santos FC, where he played from 2014 to 2017. He then moved to Stellenbosch FC in 2017, where he had a highly successful first spell until 2020, scoring an impressive 35 goals in 76 appearances. This strong performance led to a move to SuperSport United in 2020.

After a stint with SuperSport United, Rayners made a return to Stellenbosch FC in January 2023. His second period with the club was particularly fruitful, as he found his prolific goal-scoring form once again, netting 24 goals in 38 appearances during the 2023-2024 season. He became the club's all-time top scorer with 68 goals in 135 appearances across his two spells.

In August 2024, Rayners made a significant move to Mamelodi Sundowns, joining the club on a free transfer. He quickly integrated into the team, reinforcing their attacking options and demonstrating his knack for finding the back of the net in both the CAF Champions League and the Premier Soccer League.

Rayners is primarily known for his goal-scoring prowess and his ability to operate as a center-forward, though he can also play as a right or left winger. He has been praised for his clinical finishing, awareness in and around the box, and decisive decision-making when presented with scoring opportunities. His coaches have highlighted his talent for finding space and inflicting damage on opponents.

On the international stage, Rayners has represented the South Africa national team, making his debut in June 2023. As of March 2025, he has earned 18 caps and scored 5 goals for his country, contributing to their qualification campaigns for the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup.

A notable highlight in his recent career came in June 2025, when he was part of Mamelodi Sundowns' squad for the FIFA Club World Cup. He scored the only goal in Sundowns' historic 1-0 victory over Ulsan HD, marking the club's first-ever win at the tournament. He further added to his tally by scoring a second goal against Borussia Dortmund, making him the first South African player to score two goals in a single FIFA Club World Cup tournament.

Iqraam Rayners has consistently shown his value as a forward throughout his career, with a proven track record of scoring goals at club and international levels. His move to Mamelodi Sundowns and his impactful performances in major tournaments underscore his importance to both his club and the South African national team.
