Angel Rodrigo Romero Villamayor, simply known as Ángel Romero, is a Paraguayan professional footballer born on July 4, 1992, in Fernando de la Mora. He is the twin brother of fellow professional footballer Óscar Romero. Ángel began his senior club career at Paraguayan powerhouse Cerro Porteño, where he made his debut in 2011. During his time there, he showcased his attacking talent, contributing significantly to their domestic league successes, winning the Primera División Apertura in 2012 and Clausura in 2013.
In June 2014, Romero made a significant move to Brazilian club Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, where he would embark on a highly successful first stint. He quickly adapted to Brazilian football, becoming a fan favorite and a key player for Corinthians. His versatility allowed him to play effectively as a left winger, right winger, or even as a centre-forward, making him a valuable asset to the team.
